I feel a bit better following a KB article opposed to someone's post I find googling, but, no luck on the MS KB. Prior to booting the laptop and getting that message he received the message upon boot up that his system time was incorrect and to press (F?) to reset or (F?) to More About Us... recommended you read Report this problem as: Loader Error 3 to your server.
Thanks GPFuson. I, tried ALL OF THE OTHER START UP'S INCLUDING LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATIONS and still the same thing. Searches on the internet seems to indicate boot partitioning issue, with running fixboot as a solution. So I fired up a copy of our WinPE boot disk (or if you have your Windows 2000 CD), go into command prompt and checked the size of the c:\winnt\system32\config\system file.
