What is disappointing here is that these drives are mostly sold without any warning about these compatibility issues. I installed the Quick Formatter Tool, as you suggested, and tried to run it. After performing the format, the drive works fine with Windows backup in both Windows 7 and Windows Server, but is incompatible with Windows XP.
